Ski Mountaineering in England
While very much a fringe venue for skiing and snowboarding England can occasionally have good conditions in January to March. However at least for those of us who live nearby the travelling time is short. Here are a few photos from a great day out in the English Lake District in January 2010......

Setting off from the car past Dash Falls on the north side of Skiddaw.

Brilliant snow conditions high on the hill. The descent was on excellent cold winter snow, all the way back to the car.

The lazy but awkward approach to fences.!

| When to go | February and March are probably the best months for skiing in England, but the climate is really unpredictable as far as snowfall is concerned and any time from November through to April could be good. |
| Where to go | Fly to Manchester or Newcastle, or drive up the M6 or M1 if you're living further south in England. |
| Costs | Costs are not too bad. |
