Ski Mountaineering in Bulgaria
The mountains of the Balkans get a surprising amount of snow and the highest peak in this part of Europe is Musala, 2925m in the Rila mountains of southwest Bulgaria. There is also good touring in the Carpathian mountains of Romania and in Greece. Some pictures below courtesy of Ivo Stolikov, a Bulgarian guide and skier.
