Snowsports Resorts in Slovakia
Slovakia has some of the best and biggest resorts in Eastern Europe, with the possible exception of Bulgaria. The biggest resort is at Jasna in the little Tatra, just a few kilometers south of the town of Leptovsky Mikulas. Another good resort is Strbske Pleso near Stary Smokovec. As you may have guessed getting your head round the language is one of the problems with skiing here!

In the valley above Strbske Pleso resort, Slovakian Tatras.
You can get into this valley by skiing several good steep couloirs off the peak of Predne Solisko.
Some more steep and unusual off-piste at Strbske Pleso!

Piste Plan for Strbske Pleso, there is only one long piste really, labelled optimistically as piste no.1, but the steep off-piste higher and to the right of the highest chair station is really good.

Piste Plan for Jasna, the biggest Slovakian resort. There is apparently a plan to link this resort soon with the area of Chopok on the south slopes of the same mountain...at the moment you have to hike for about half an hour to link the resorts.
Well, whatever, Slovakia was a nice country and there was tonnes of snow....
