Pastoruri Ski Field in Peru
The view towards the glacier and the ski fields in Pastoruri
Pastoruri is the only 'ski resort' in Peru. But it's not much of a resort. There is from time to time one rope-tow on a small glacier at over 4500m that is rapidly shrinking and these days is often icy.... Access is via the town of Huaraz about 8 hours north of Lima.
Practical stuff
| When to go | April and May at the end of the wet season are probably the best months. | |
| Where to go | Fly to Lima, the capital of Peru, then bus to Huaraz. From here there are regular tourist buses to Pastoruri in the tourist season, of June-August, and you can arrange ski hire too. | |
| Costs | Travel and accommodation in Peru are reasonably cheap | |
