Bernina Group
Piz Bernina in eastern Switzerland.
Some brief details here of ski mountaineering in the Bernina mountains at the very eastern end of Switzerland, in the area of the Inn valley. The highest peak, Piz Bernina, is the most easterly 4000'er in the Alps.
The devastation left by a giant avalanche in Eastern Switzerland in the highly unusual spring of 1999.
