Some brief details here of ski mountaineering in the Bernina mountains at the very eastern end of Switzerland, in the area of the Inn valley. The highest peak, Piz Bernina, is the most easterly 4000'er in the Alps.

Suggested Tours

A short outing is suggested, rather than a long tour..

Day 1 From the Diavolezza lift to Piz Palü, 3905m and Boval Hut.
Day 2 Up to Marco-e-Rosa Hut.
Day 3 Piz Bernina, 4049m and back down to Diavolezza.
